Hop Clover - Trifolium agrarium (Pea family - Leguminosae)

Hop Clover - Trifolium agrarium (Pea family - Leguminosae) This species, also known as T. aureum, is one of 3 annual yellow clovers in the United States, all introduced from Europe.

They are primarily low plants, often found in lawns and gardens. When the flower heads wither, florets fold down, and become brownish, suggesting dried hops.
