Yellow Mandarin - Disporum lanuginosum (Lily family - Liliaceae) The yellow-green flowers dangle singly or in pairs from tip of the stem; petals flare outward. Leaves alternate on forking stems. Plants densely downy. Fruit is a red berry. 18 - 30 in. Woods. May - June


 

 

This is a smaller species than Spotted Disporum. The flowers are not as large and are not spotted. Its stamens are shorter than the corolla.
