Canada Wild Ginger - Asarum canadense (Birthwort Family - Aristolochiaceae) The flower is in the crotch between 2 leafstalks at ground level. Ants are the main pollinators. It is somewhat cup-shaped with 3-pointed red-brown calyx lobes. Leaves are large and heart-shaped with hairy stalks. 6 -12 in. Rich woods. April-May.
