This tour begins at the North Fork Brethren Church. To reach the church take Rt. 28 south from Circleville, 2.7 miles to Cherry Grove and then take Snowy Mt. Road (Rt. 17) for 1.8 miles.

Begin the tour by taking Upper North Fork Road (Rt. 19), which follows the river up the valley. At 5.2 miles the pavement ends and the tour enters Highland County, VA, where a steep ascent begins on a hard-packed dirt road. The climb tops out at 6.5 miles and the road surface becomes packed gravel.

The next 6 miles are rolling, scenic countryside. At 8.1 miles the road surface becomes paved. At 9.0 miles, continue straight on Rt. 644. Do not turn right on Rt. 643.

At 10.6 miles, turn left on Rt. 640 and at 12.8 miles, reenter Pendleton County and descend Wimer Mt. Road (Rt. 26), reaching the bottom at 13.8 miles, where you then turn left onto Snowy Mt. Rd. (Rt. 19).

Begin the last ascent, topping out at 15.6 miles, and from there it's a breathtaking, scenic 4.9 mile downhill glide to the starting point.
