The Christian Assistance
Network, CAN is located on U.S. Rt. 33 East between Pendleton
Manor and Pendleton County High School/Middle School. It is a
non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to helping
any needy families and individuals with emergency assistance,
generally in the form of food and clothing.
The distribution center is open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and anyone wanting assistance must
first be referred to CAN by a social service agency in Pendleton
County or by local clergy. Donations of good, used children's
clothing, surplus foodstuffs or money are gratefully accepted.
As an all-volunteer organization CAN has no administrative costs.
The distribution center does not have a
phone. Donations are accepted during normal hours of operation.
New voluteers are always welcome. Volunteers, Carol Bruce and
Brenda Andrews, pictured below, are an integral part of this vital
community resource.
