Mountain Hospice, Inc., is a nonprofit organization serving six area counties. The Pendleton County branch office is located on Main Street in Franklin and is supervised by Colleen Plaugher.

Hospice is an in-home care program to help terminally ill individuals remain in their comfortable, familiar surroundings and to enable their families to continue to care for them.

The cost of hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private health insurance policies; however, persons are accepted for Mountain Hospice services based on their health needs rather than their ability to pay. Mountain Hospice does not charge co-pays and will not take Social Security checks or attach a client's estate.
