The Gendarme climbing shop, from modest beginnings out of the back of a VW van, has grown into one of the most complete climbing shops on the East Coast. In addition to an excellent selection of climbing equipment, they carry an ever-increasing assortment of camping supplies. While there, be sure to check out The Gendarme's large collection of historic climbing gear.

To find the climbing school office and store, turn in at the lane between Yokum's and Harper's stores at the junction in Seneca Rocks. Open April 1 to October 31.
